Standing shoulder to shoulder for strong cybersecurity at Royal FloraHolland
Members in the News: Dutch IT - Leaders, André van der Linden, FloraHolland. After 26 years at Rabobank, André van der Linden embraced a new challenge as CIO of Royal FloraHolland. He leads the digital transformation of the world’s largest floriculture marketplace. With a focus on innovation, cybersecurity, and AI, he’s building a future-proof platform. His approach: collaboration, experimentation, and shared responsibility.

Royal FloraHolland is transforming its marketplace through digitalization and growth.
The traditional auction clock is increasingly being replaced by direct trade, which now accounts for 60% of all transactions. To support this shift, the Floriday platform was developed to simplify processes and expand trading opportunities.
The organization now operates using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), where IT, business, and support work together as one team. Innovation plays a key role, with an AI lab and tools like Copilot focused on delivering practical applications by the end of 2025.
Cybersecurity is a top priority: multi-factor authentication (MFA) is mandatory, and a Cyber Resilience Center has been established to raise awareness among growers. The ambition is to make Floriday the leading digital marketplace for ornamental horticulture, supported by a culture of collaboration, accountability, and digital safety.
