Data Literacy in Practice – Gea Peters (Alliander)
In this break-out session, Gea Peters, data consultant at the Data Office of Alliander, introduces the self-developed Data Literacy Maturity Scan — a practical instrument that has since been embraced by DAMA Netherlands. Gea previously applied this scan at Enexis and is now using it at Alliander to structurally strengthen data literacy across the organization.
The scan addresses a fundamental question many organizations struggle with:
How do you ensure that people truly understand what data is, what they can do with it, and how to turn data into value?
This is explicitly not a technical session. The focus is on people, behavior, and skill development — not on tools or platforms.
🔎 In this interactive session, you will work with:
✅ Hands-on use of the Data Literacy Maturity Scan
✅ Gaining insight into the level of data literacy within your organization
✅ Learning concrete steps to enhance data-driven value creation
✅ Experiencing how to approach data maturity with people at the center
This breakout session is ideally suited for CIOs, data leaders, and transformation professionals who want to strengthen data skills across their organization, starting with understanding, not technology.
📌 Please note: This session will be conducted in Dutch.
