During the CIO Platform Nederland Annual Day on 4 June, Martijn Koning stepped down as Chairman. Over the past six years, Martijn has served on the board, including the last four years as Chairman. Under his leadership, the platform has grown into an association where 140 companies and public sector organizations, along with more than 2,000 participants, exchange knowledge and inspire one another.

Reflecting on his departure, Martijn said: “I am proud of the progress we have made as an association. We have been successful in connecting members within the organization, and in representing the interests of digital Netherlands beyond it.”

The chairmanship is assumed by Aart Rupert, Chief Digital Officer at Damen Shipyards Group and CIO of the Year 2023. With his broad experience at the intersection of technology, data, and digital transformation, he brings a strong profile to support the continued development of the association. Aart is committed to further advancing knowledge sharing within the community and to making the voice of CIOs more visible in the political arena. Through their daily work, CIOs witness firsthand the impact of technology on organizations and decision-making, and hold valuable insights into what works—and what does not.

In addition, CIO Platform Netherlands welcomes Alexander Zwart, Chief Information & Technology Officer at Rabobank, as a new board member. Alexander, CIO of the Year 2025, is a co-initiator of initiatives to exchange experiences on digital resilience among members. Within the board, he will take on the role of portfolio holder for Vendor Relations.

With these changes, CIO Platform Netherlands strengthens its board and continues its commitment to representing the interests and advancing the development of the CIO community in the Netherlands.
